Introduction to Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion with our vibraderm machine is a non- invasive skin care device that gently removes the rough top layer of the skin using a vibrating paddle. The skin immediately feels healthier and looks more radiant and polished. As treatments continue other layers of the skin start to improve. This is a painless procedure and there is no downtime. This is good for skin that is aging, congested, flaky, dry, devitalized, blemished and dull to make if more even and rejuvenated. Approximately every 30 days we create a new layer of skin. As new cells form they push their way to the surface and dead cells settle on the surface. This causes enlarged, clogged pores, uneven texture and dull appearance.
What Can Vibradermabrasion Treat?
The device can treat almost any area on the body. The face and neck are the most popular areas, however the machine can treat backs, chests, feet, hands etc.
Common treatment conditions for vibraderm include:
- Superficial age spots and skin dullness
- Superficial acne scars
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Acne prone skin
- Rough skin any location
- Dry and oily skin
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sebaceous hyperplasia
- Pore size formation may diminish.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
Immediately after treatment the face may be a little red and flushed. This generally lasts about 20 minutes. It is important to not exercise for 24 hours after treatment as you can feel a stinging sensation on the face. Stop Retin A treatments 2-3 days prior and wear sunscreen for 2-3 days post treatment.
The following conditions must be cautious with treatments.
This treatment is progressive and results become noticeable after the third treatment.
History of severe diabetes, severe inflamed acne or rosacea, cold sore infections, illnesses that reduce the immune system such as cancer, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis etc.
How Often Will I Need Treatments?
Treatment numbers will vary. Patients with a lot of acne or rosacea will likely need 3-4 treatments every 2 weeks to see improvements. Patients who are interested in a more refreshed polished look may only need 2 -3 treatments every 2 weeks and then maintenance every 3-4 months or as desired.
